Wire Rope Net Drapery Mesh Systems provide an effective solution for controlling dangerous rockfalls, especially in areas where passive rockfall

barriers are not suitable due to limited space at the slope toe, excessive rock bounce height, or extremely steep slopes.

When retaining large rocks (over 0.6 m in diameter), wire rope nets are preferred over traditional wire mesh and chain link mesh because of their

superior load-bearing capacity, high tear resistance, flexibility, and ability to adapt to uneven terrain while allowing natural vegetation growth.

A typical wire rope net slope protection system consists of multiple individual wire rope net panels installed along the slope.

Standard panels are usually 3 × 6 m (10 × 20 ft) with a 0.3 × 0.3 m (12 × 12 inch) mesh opening. The nets can be connected to anchored support

ropes that hang freely down the slope or fixed at corners and existing rock bolt points.

The suspended blanket system allows controlled rock movement by guiding falling rocks safely beneath the net, while the anchored system provides

full stabilization by preventing rock displacement. Customized smaller mesh sizes are available, and chain link mesh can be added to capture smaller

debris.

Our standard active rockfall protection system adopts a double-layer mesh drapery design. The inner layer consists of small-opening chain link wire

mesh to prevent fine debris from passing through, while the outer layer uses high-strength cable netting with larger openings to withstand impacts

from large rocks.
